The national production of vehicles was 21,646 units and in July it recorded a 9.5% decline compared to June and a 47.8% one in relation to the same month last year.
Exports stood at 19,913 units and showed a 14.4% increase compared to June and a 21.5% drop if compared to the volume recorded in July 2018.
Sales to dealers accounted for 39,255 units, 7.5% more in relation to the previous month and 15.8% below its comparison to the same period last year.
With an average of 21 working days of production, the automotive terminals posted 21,646 units produced in July, 9.5% less in relation to June and 47.8% below the volume recorded in the same month last year when 41,450 units were produced.
In the accumulated of the first seven months of the year, the automotive sector posted 182,828 units produced, a volume that stood 35.6% below the 284,105 units that were manufactured in the same period of 2018.
Last month, the automotive terminals exported 19,913 units, showing an improvement of 14.4% regarding shipments in June and a 21.5% drop if compared to the 25,363 units that were exported in July last year.
Accumulated from January to July, 127,599 vehicles were exported, 13.2% below the 146,933 shipped to various markets in the same period of 2018.
Analyzing the behavior of the industry in the last month, the president of the Association of Automotive Makers (ADEFA), Luis Fernando Peláez Gamboa, noted that "there has been a month-on-month improvement in variables such as export and wholesale sales, the latter, fostered by the launch of the bonus "Plan" for customers and a significant improvement of 19.6% as regards the sale of domestic vehicles".
Furthermore, in this synthesis on the behavior of the industry, the manager noted that "the improvement in volumes is not yet recorded in the production pillar mainly due to the effect of seasonality and plant shut-downs scheduled for holidays and maintenance of several companies".
Finally, in July, 39,255 vehicles were marketed to the network, 7.5% more in its comparison to the previous June and 15.8% below its performance the same month last year when 46,637 units were delivered to the dealers.
With a total of 226,322 units marketed between January and July, the sector recorded a year-on-year fall of 51.7% as regards wholesale sales.
