Industry Report March 2019

In March, the domestic production of vehicles was 29,227 units, 10.5% less than February and 41.1% below the record of the same month last year.

The sector exported 21,085 vehicles, that is, 8.5% more than in February and 23.9% less than the volume that was posted in March 2018.

In wholesale sales, the sector marketed 33,708 units to the network, volume that stood 10.9% above the previous month, and contracted 57.6% in its comparison with the performance of March last year.

In March, the automotive terminals produced 29,227 vehicles, meaning 10.5% less than the volume recorded the previous February and 41.1% less when compared to the 49,655 units produced in the same month last year.

On the first quarter's accumulated, the sector reached 76,692 units produced (cars and utility vehicles), marking a 30.7% drop compared to the 110,598 units produced in the same period last year.

The volume of vehicles exported during March rose to 21,085 units, showing an 8.5% improvement compared to February. If the comparison is with the same month of 2018, the drop in shipments was of 23.9 percent.

Between January and March, a total of 47,919 vehicles were exported, which means a 16.4% fall was recorded in its comparison to the same period last year when 57,348 units were exported.

Continuing with the data recorded during the third month of the year, the sector marketed 33,708 units to its dealer network, 10.9% more in relation to February and a 57.6% drop in comparison with March 2018.

This way, the accumulated of the first three months of the year, the wholesale sale (dealers) was 94,150 units, 56.8% less compared to the first quarter of 2018 when 217,747 vehicles were marketed.
